Very few movies are made in such a perfect way that even after watching their remake, people don’t realize it’s actually a remake of another original film. Believe it or not, whenever someone hears the name “Drishyam,” the first face that comes to mind is Ajay Devgn’s. That’s how perfectly the remake was made — even the original would feel shy!

The original film was a classic Malayalam suspense thriller by Mohanlal sir. Its second part was released on OTT. But Ajay Devgn released the remake in theatres and earned ₹350 crores from it.

Now just think — what if both the original and the remake were released in theatres at the same time? What would happen if the original makers also released their film in Hindi dubbing? What would happen to Ajay Devgn then?

Just a few days ago, the same confusion was going on about Drishyam 3. That’s because the original makers were strongly planning to release their movie in Hindi as well.

But now something is going to happen that has never happened before in the history of Indian cinema. And after this, the whole “original vs remake” game might change forever.

The story of Drishyam 3 was being written for a long time. The original makers had already said they would bring back the same actors and shock the audience once again.

Here’s what’s happening — the original makers have finished writing the story and will start shooting Drishyam 3 with Mohanlal sir this October.

And now the twist: the exact same story will also be given to Ajay Devgn’s team — and they too will start shooting Drishyam 3 this October!

That means both the Malayalam and Hindi versions of Drishyam 3 will be made together at the same time, with both sets of actors working in parallel.

Both films will begin shooting together and end together too. In fact, it's even possible that the editors of both movies will be the same this time!

The big advantage of this plan is: Drishyam 3 (Malayalam) and Drishyam 3 (Hindi) will be released together in theatres on the same day — 2nd October 2026.

Then it will be up to the audience — do they want to watch the original or the remake?

And because both movies are coming out on the same day, the climax or twist ending won’t get spoiled in advance either.

Speaking of climax — maybe you don’t know — but a short 40-second teaser of Drishyam 3 has already been released, and it gives a big hint about the upcoming story.

The tagline of the movie is: “The past never stays silent” — which means, the past never stays quiet.

Remember in Drishyam 1, how the dog’s skeleton was found underground? That same case is about to reopen.

And as far as I can guess — no matter how smart the main character is, at the end of the day, he is a criminal.

At least the parents of the boy deserve to know the truth. And maybe in Drishyam 3, they’ll finally get that chance.

So it’s possible that instead of a brand new story, Drishyam 3 will go back to the old case — where Tabu’s character again starts chasing Ajay Devgn’s family.
