Nancy Mace's Viral Pajama Road Trip to Vote on Trump’s Spending Bill
US Congresswoman Nancy Mace didn’t let a cancelled flight stop her from casting a crucial vote. Wearing pink pajamas, she set off on a road trip from Charleston to Washington, D.C. to support Donald Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill.”
Nancy shared her journey on social media, posting videos and updates from the road. In one clip, she’s seen walking into a Wawa convenience store while AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell” plays in the background. She captioned it:
> “If D.C. had a theme song…”
In another post, she gave a shoutout to service workers, writing:
> “Much respect to those who work hard and keep things running — I haven’t forgotten where I came from.”
While some praised her dedication, many people online weren’t impressed. They felt she was making a simple 8-hour drive seem like a major adventure.
One user wrote:
> “Why is she acting like this is some heroic journey? It’s just a drive.”
Another commented:
> “She rented a luxury van, wore pajamas, had a staffer film her, and posted everything for attention. All of it likely funded by taxpayers.”
Some even questioned her mental state, calling the whole act “undignified” for someone in her position.
Meanwhile, Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries was speaking for over four hours on the House floor. A GOP congressman reportedly texted Senator JD Vance saying:
> “I was undecided on the bill, but after watching Hakeem’s speech, I’m now a firm yes.”
